things have been great. 

there are unavoidable flames keeping my mind in distant places, like piper graduating or missing kirk or wanting my bike, but i can say with relief that i'm liking things more and more here. 

i'm seeing things in new ways. 4 months in. with 1 month to go. of course it happens this way.

i cling to any and all moments of bliss or love or wonder or beauty or happiness.

these are the simplest things that brought those moments today.

i like thinking about sleeping in my bed in michigan again. i love getting lost in the white.

i'm going to miss richmond park, the closest form of the most beautiful kind of escape
i'm appreciating the old, towering houses and the trees that cradle them now after growing up beside them
i'm going to miss the feeling of life in this city
i look forward to gliding through water again, pedaling for miles, paddling under Summer's sun

distracting myself from the fact that i can't be with my family to watch my sister graduate college today.

school really doesn't mean that much to me in the grand scheme and as much as piper says its alright that i'm not there, i can't help but feel like i was meant to be, like i'm supposed to be sitting next to my mom, holding her hand, screaming "das MY baby, das MY baby!" as she walks across the stage (© michael baran and all the obnoxious moms at high school graduation).

but because i can't be there, and i've done all i can do from afar (cards, phone calls, attempted videos, etc.), i will watch the live ceremony online while snacking on raisins and distract myself by looking at photographs of our lovely may weather. and maybe do some productive things, who knows.
