a personal series: a varied tribute to something that has become like another invaluable limb.

I don't want this to be overly emotional, because it's not, but hair is interesting. it can be a mode of comfort, expression, warmth. and while it can so easily be cut and forgotten about, it can also become so much a part of someone that they don't notice how much it dances with them in everyday life. not until it's gone does one notice the beautiful s's it made on wet skin after a shower, how it obediently rested on the sleeve of a jacket, or how it had to be protected and accounted for as a jacket was being zipped up.

I've felt myself growing too attached to my hair lately and therefore decided a while ago that it was time to cut it. as I prepare for my first venture overseas, this is just another thing to help me go over there without any reservations.

get rid of all things that tie you down, I guess. so farewell to my long locks.
