i'm home on the east side for labor day weekend, spending some moments with my family after a positive first week of my 'junior' year.

yesterday we ventured out to detroit to its thriving eastern market, complete with an abundant supply of local produce, potted mini-cacti, street performers, cute families and smiling faces.

a friend has been telling me about this market for a while and i knew taking my mom and sister would be a great opportunity to experience it, but as soon as i saw a guy with a huge sign whose capitalized hand writing wrote, "i see greatness in you," i knew it was probably the right place to be.
so we got some veggies, a ton of peaches, 5 pounds of blueberries, a couple cacti, and happened upon a printmaking shop where i picked up a great print to remind me of the day, all while getting to know the city of detroit a little more.
cool.
my mom likes blueberries.
