i've been drawing stars a lot lately.
last night i watched werner herzog's 'encounters at the end of the world' and in one of the physics discussions they showed this piece of hawaiian art to demonstrate how some scientists feel like they're 'measuring the spirits' when they do this kind of work.

meaning
"the stars are the eyes of heaven"
